We are recruiting a technician! Our lab studies the biology + applications of hibernation-like states with focus on neuroscience. Position is ideal for college grads interested in working largely independently for two years ahead of pursuing a PhD or MD. wibr.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/en-US/WIBR-Car…
Thrilled to share that our paper showing how tissues regulate #proteasome content in vivo is now accepted for publication Journal of Cell Biology! Congratulations to our talented postdoc Jennifer Gilda (now in Genentech) and PhD student Dharanibalan for their remarkable work! #muscle 📷
In Journal of Cell Biology, Gilda et al. Shenhav Shemer Lab show that, in response to catabolic stimuli, muscle cells boost #proteasome levels by inducing proteasome subunit genes & assembly chaperones in a two-phase program controlled by multiple transcription factors hubs.la/Q02xLTxH0
Thank you to Journal of Cell Biology for spotlighting our latest paper on regulation of #proteasome content in vivo! Special thanks to our collaborators, Soyeon Park (University of Colorado Boulder) and Yael Mandel-Gutfreund (Technion, Israel) for their invaluable contributions to this work.
Proteasome gene expression is dependent on both PAX4 and α-PALNRF-1. Findings from Gilda et al. Shenhav Shemer Lab show that PAX4 and α-PALNRF-1 represent new therapeutic targets to inhibit proteolysis in catabolic diseases (e.g., type-2 #diabetes, #cancer). hubs.la/Q02xLDdd0
I was honored to speak at Ilan Ramon International Space Conference, Israel Space Agency 🇮🇱. Inspiring lectures, brilliant scientists, and great connections. Grateful to be part of such a groundbreaking community! ws.eventact.com/ilanramon2025/… #SpaceScience #IlanRamonConference #Inspiration
🚨 Thrilled to share our new review is out in The FEBS Journal. We discuss fiber-type–specific strategies to combat muscle atrophy. Grateful to Prof Shenhav Shemer Lab for mentorship and support. Excited to see how these insights shape future therapies. #muscle tinyurl.com/3pff8d94
