We've electric fenced off the farm track to provide longer grass for the #cornbuntings to nest. Needless to say, the Badger Face ewe and a couple of the Rough Fells are always the wrong side 🙄 The white strip in the distance is the Ox eye daisies in the wildflower strip.

Torrin ( on the left) and Nina. You can see Nina is full sister to his Mum, Sweep. The ears, the eyes, the mirror image markings, the obsessive waiting at the gate in case they miss a walk 😊

Back from a much needed break in the Lake District with hubs & Nina. Went up and back in 30 degree heat, the air con wasn't working and the traffic added 2 hrs to both journeys😱 But we had a great time. I'm back at work on Monday so the shop is open ➡️ sheepinstitches.etsy.com

Fabulous 2 days at #groundswell2025 regenerative farming event. Dung beetle safari with the awesome Claire Whittle, learned about tree fodder and even how to train dogs to find truffles. Back to earth vaccinating 350 lambs this morning and then needlefelting a #cotswoldsheep

I was feeling a bit ambivalent about the TDF this year but just heard the plans for Never Strays Far and next year. I've always said your commentary is so good it would work on radio; the whole idea is genius.Thank you Ned Boulting 🏳️‍⚧️ David Millar Peter kennaugh and Lizzie Deignan 😊

Finally got the sheep sheared today which didn't take as long as usual because we've reduced the size of the flock a bit. Just time to stitch up a #ducktollingretriever afterwards. If you like it, it's also available in a sitting pose in my shop here ➡️sheepinstitches.etsy.com/listing/259380…

No, we're not watching tv. We're working! The fact that the TV is tuned to The Tour de France is immaterial. I've got a cat and a dog portrait commission to do by the end of next week and I have to sit somewhere 😄

As many of you know, my "signature" is the hand embroidered eyes on my needlefelted pieces, but for this cat, I've done something different and felted the eye instead.

She's done. I've been thinking a lot about eye placement and how to translate that to what is essentially a flat piece. Predator eyes are on the front of the face, where as herbivores like sheep are more on the side. A stitch or two in the right place makes all the difference!

Ever heard of a #lagottoromagnolo ? I hadn't until I was commissioned to make one. Having looked them up, they are a gun dog from the Delta del Po region of Italy, which used to be extensive marshland, and where they were used particularly to retrieve from water.

Talk about Dog days. It's over 30 degrees already. The horses are in the barn away from the heat and flies, I've done the sheep, had a run with the dogs, watered the greenhouse and veg plots and now I've retreated to the relative cool of the kitchen to try and make some kimchi.

That's the #lagottoromagnolo finished . Lots of curls...and then some more! I'll be offering the design in my Etsy shop when I've taken some better pictures.

A few aphids have just started appearing on my seedling caulis and cabbages. As if by magic, the Ladybirds appear. Thanks, little friends 😊 #gardeningwithnature

Another year of school runs survived... no thanks to the many astonishing incidents of dreadful driving I've witnessed over the last year 🙄 Celebrated the end of term by taking child to lunch at the local farm shop café. And just like that, there's only one more year to go! 🎉

This is what a mentally tired young dog looks like! We had a wonderful #Mantrailing session today including his 1st "High find". The trail-layer was hiding about 10 feet off the ground on a stack of straw bales in a barn. Watching him work it out and climb up to her was amazing.

I only bought this brand because it was on offer, but I'm utterly bemused by the instruction not to eat it straight from the pot. Needless to say the rebel in me grabbed a spoon and dug in. It's been 20 minutes now and I'm still in one piece, so far 😂
