Disappointed to see NRMP®’s 2023 Match calendar: Both programs and applicants have the same rank order list deadline. In contrast, ophthalmology programs in SF Match submit ROLs two weeks early - so applicants have opportunity for no pressure, non-evaluative in person visit.

And my advice to rising PGY 2s who are about to take home call is similar: If your intern calls you at night and tells you they’re worried about a patient, get out of bed, drive to the hospital, and see the patient.
