What a difference between Andy Street and Susan Hall. Andy was humble, polite & gracious, Hall was rude, arrogant & deeply unpleasant. I believe the Tory Party is doomed, it is the party of deeply unpleasant extremists like Hall now, the Andy Streets are as rare as hens’ teeth.

Labour winning in the West Mids and North Yorkshire, Burnham and Rotheram strolling to victory and Khan dunking on Susan Hall.

Mr Sunak your boys have taken one hell of a beating

Lovely speech from the new West Midlands Mayor Richard Parker thanking Andy Street for his service

Andy Street spoke beautifully too.

They both have such an obvious pride in their home.

Compare and contrast with Susan Hall in London 👀

Another Conservative leadership contest at this stage of the electoral cycle might not address any of the party's underlying problems, but it would - and I beg Tory MPs not to forget this - be very funny.

16.7 point swing against Houchen in Tees Valley
4.7 point swing against Street in West Midlands

But the former was a political triumph, the latter a tipping point for some in the Conservative Party?

Sadiq Khan is officially declared the winner in the London mayoral election with 1,088,225 votes, a majority of 276,707
Oh Laura Laura Laura
Laura Kuenssberg you really are toast. Your Tory bias just became a joke. Time to do the right thing. Of course you will gut chucked out when…

Sadiq Khan won a third term by a greater margin than Ken Livingstone won his first in 2000, in a city that the Conservatives won more recently (and more frequently) than Labour has won a UK general election.

Virtually every major wave of campus protests in the past sixty or so years has been met with condemnation by established elites. And virtually all--civil rights, anti-war, anti-apartheid--over the decades have proven the protestors to be on the right side of history.

The BBC didn’t include the candidate who ended coming third in their West Midlands debate.

The reform candidate, who ended up getting less than half Yakoob’s vote, was included however.

Says a lot, doesn’t it? bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

There is a view, even among those not on the right, that Sadiq Khan has been 'average', 'disappointing', 'underwhelming'.

I say thank heavens for a diligent, principled Mayor who has never prioritised the gimmicky vanity projects that make for an 'exciting' Mayor.

I make no secret of being proud to be a Londoner but honestly seeing our city give more votes to Count Binface than to the fascists at Britain First makes me feel even prouder. 👏👏👏

Laura Kuenssberg should be sacked ... this kind of talk is dangerous when it is completely unfounded ... it's the sort of misinformation surrounding democratic elections that leads to some nutters claiming their defeat was rigged like we saw on January 6th in the Capitol. Shame!

Congrats to all pollsters who polled West Mids - the polling average gave Labour a 1 pt lead.

Yes, two polls technically go the result wrong but every poll here likely easily within the margin of error of the result.

Let's have done with election rigging;
⭕️ Votes at 16
⭕️ STV for all mayors, councils etc
⭕️ Guaranteed equal media access for all parties, including local newspapers and radio stations
⭕️ Scrap voter ID
If achieved, goodbye far right Tories ...🤷🏻‍♂️
