Loving life back on a flymo this morning. Was like being back in my apprentice days. Mind you I nearly had to ask how to start it.

The feet are feeling it today after putting in the steps on and off the course this week. It's all been worth it though.

Nice to get the chance to help with a morning shift at my old workplace today, preparing the course for U.S. Kids Golf . A lot has changed since my time as an apprentice all those years ago, think I was only allowed to use a flymo back then.

Not ideal for the 4 inch water pipe that feeds the greenkeeping shed burst in the middle of the 1st fairway but all repaired now. The machines can be washed, irrigation tank filled and more importantly I can fill the kettle now.

Ironman greenkeeping for me this week. Quick spin on the green mowers Genesis Scottish Open first thing then back up the road to my own place. I have a feeling the feet will be struggling by the end of the week but wouldn't change it for the world.

Going to upgrade a tractor at work which will essentially only be used with a mounted sprayer and pulling a top dresser about. Does anyone have feedback on alternatives to Kubota and John Deere as I'm loathing to spend big when the tractor will be in the shed most of the year.

I've not been at Easter Road to help out on match days for a few weeks now. Hats off to Stevie Thomas and pud mckenna cause they have got that playing surface incredible.

With 123 competition days, plus record numbers of visitor rounds and footfall it's been a long old playing season. The one thing that has been constant all season is the quality of the putting surfaces. The boys have played a blinder this year keeping them up to scratch.
