This is correct, failure to defeat Hamas in Gaza empowers Hezbollah, especially because Hezbollah has tied itself to the Gaza front. Israel needs to deal a knock-out blow to one of the groups. So far Hamas continues to control most of Gaza, despite being the weaker of the two.
