“Just hang on, we’re gonna help her,” assured San Francisco 911 Dispatcher Linda Roberts. Recently, a family & their doula called 911 when their baby girl was born at home BEFORE they could get to the hospital. (1 of 3)

Linda calmly guided the doula through the afterbirth procedures & talked them through tying off the umbilical cord until medics arrived. As a veteran dispatcher & mother of two, Linda knows how exciting & stressful labor can be, especially when the unexpected happens. (2 of 3)

This was Linda’s second post-birth assist in 17 years. 911 dispatchers receive a stork pin when they help deliver a baby from start to finish. Linda is still waiting on that stork pin, but we know mother & baby will be in good hands when it finally happens. (3 of 3)

It was every parent’s worst nightmare. They found their two-month-old baby not breathing in the middle of the night. 911 Dispatcher Marissa Manalo said a quick prayer and asked for the strength to help this young life. (1 of 5)

Anthony Perez is Second Lieutenant in the Callum Gavin, serving as Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear (CBRN) Officer. Before earning his commission, he served in the U.S. Air Force as a Munitions Systems Specialist. (1/2)

Lony HaleyNelson served as an Aviation Structural Mechanic for the U.S. Navy. In this role, Lony was responsible for maintaining & repairing all aircraft structural components for flynavy. (1/2)

Richard Ho served as an Expeditionary Firefighting and Rescue Specialist for U.S. Marines. In this role, Richard provided fire suppression, extraction, & emergency medical services at forward operating bases. (1/2)

Susan Clark is an Emergency Services Coordinator for @sf_emergency where she develops all-hazards emergency plans for San Francisco.  Prior to joining SFDEM, Susan served in Medical Service Corps for the U.S. Army. (1/2)
