The most impressive part of that for Sinner was mental. There was so much pressure on him here. He was defending his turf - his conditions, his country - and the importance for him to get a H2H win over Alcaraz was huge. That's a lot of anxiety and he handled it beautifully.

being suspended for 3 months & not knowing how you’ll play when you come back… instead making every grand slam final & winning the atp finals as well. yeah you can tell this one meant a lot. closed a crazy season in the best way possible

Sinner ends with 58-6 and a 91% win rate. First to have back-to-back seasons of 90%+ win rates since Federer 04-06. He also ends 2025 with a hold % of 92% and a break % of 33%. I believe this is the first instance of a player having the best Hold% and Break% in the Tour.

Alcaraz on the crowd. β€œThey didn’t affect me at all. I like to feel this kind of energy. They weren’t against me. They were supporting him”. β€œThe worst atmosphere that I had was Bercy vs. Gaston in 2021. I will never forget that match”.

USO22, RG25 - Sinner MPs in both. Sinner wins just those two alone then the H2H is 8-8. It’s a far closer contest than the H2H shows but because Alcaraz fans are innately dishonest and delusional they can’t admit reality.

Context and eye test always matters in any H2H. On paper Federer owned Nadal and Djokovic in 2007 - but anyone who actually watched the H2H encounters could see they were getting closer despite what the media were saying.

Alcaraz supposedly the greatest player ever according to his fans. He had a group of Musetti/Fritz/De Minaur (0 slams; 0 indoor titles combined) then FAA in SF then supposedly a guy he owns in the final. Why couldn’t he win the tournament?

Alcaraz has had a great season. It’s actually commendable he’s kept pace with what is really a generational run from Sinner. Sinner would be holding all four slams + WTF were it not for Alcaraz putting in lights out performances in RG and USO finals.

Narrative: Sinner needs to be at his best to beat Alcaraz Reality: Alcaraz needs to be at his best to beat Sinner Sinner could have played better in WTF and Wimbledon finals, Alcaraz couldn’t have played better at RG and USO Finals.
