Today Spanish 1 and 2 students had the chance to try bocadillo colombiano (guava paste), which I brought back from my trip! The verdict? Looks questionable, tastes sort of good. 🙂 #cfevs

Álvaro Soler is a perennial favorite of our Spanish Miércoles Musical voting, and he recently did an at-home concert on Instagram! Check it out: youtube.com/watch?v=fZAwgW…

Spanish 1 students this week are learning prepositions and practicing them by making a line dance video on FlipGrid! Love seeing pets and family members join too! (Check out the original dance here: youtube.com/watch?v=mya0Rq…) #cfevs

In Spanish-speaking countries, it's the Tooth Mouse, not the Tooth Fairy, who exchanges coins for baby teeth. Spanish 2 is learning all about El Ratoncito Pérez this week, and some students have been getting creative, making doors for him in their homes! #cfevs #tigerpride

Dropped off some students' projects in paper boxes and put some classroom materials away. Feeling sad that this is how our year ends. I can't wait to see students again. ❤️ #cfevs

Centro Mundolengua, the incredible program our students have traveled to Spain with for over a decade, has had to furlough most staff due to the pandemic. Consider donating to support this amazing staff that has done so much for CFHS! Centro MundoLengua #cfevs gofundme.com/f/help-furloug…

I wrote Dr. Francisco Jiménez (author of La Mariposa, which I teach, and many other awesome books about growing up in the Central Valley as a Mexican American immigrant), and he emailed back! ☺️ I highly recommend checking out La Mariposa, Cajas de Cartón, and his other books!

If this isn't the perfect representation of graduation this year, I don't know what is. (This was 100% Tyler's idea, to get a masked version of his portrait!)

One of Spanish II students' options for an assignment this week was to put out their shoes and food for the Reyes Magos (Three Kings) and their camels. In Spanish-speaking countries, the Reyes Magos bring presents to children on January 6th. Loving these setups!
