In 2023, Lockheed Martin invested in a facility to support emerging needs for mass production of smallsat networks like the #PWSA. The multi-million dollar facility houses the company’s PWSA T1 Transport Layer satellites, among other smallsat programs and tech demos. #TradeSpace

In 2024, Airbus expanded to add Northrop Grumman production. The recently renamed Airbus U.S. Space & Defense satellite factory is retooling production to help build a new military constellation of optically interconnected satellites in LEO in support of SDA’s PWSA. #TradeSpace
