A lot of women don’t realise their exhaustion is caused by consistently being in their masculine energy and/or navigating the world in a constant state of defence, not from a lack of sleep

Today a client yelled at me to “fix her” I calmly responded “my dear, you are not broken” looking her straight in the eyes. I could literally see the years of criticism and manipulation falling off her as she sighed with relief.

My biggest mental health lesson was learning to sit with my emotions rather than run from them

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but it’s okay to let go of the defences you developed as a child to protect yourself 🧡

Controlling everyone’s opinion of you by always being “nice” is exhausting, no wonder you are tired 🤗

So many defence mechanisms are disempowering to women because they require a lot of our masculine energy. Operating primarily from this place can be exhausting. Are there other ways to protect yourself?

Look at the way you treat others for clues about how you really want to be treated and then open your heart and prepare yourself to accept those things

Sometimes when you feel like you are losing yourself, you are. And for good reason. Your old self can be a place of comfort but it can also be a prison. Don’t be afraid to shed your old self when it’s no longer serving you 🧡

Not allowing yourself to dislike people that you actually dislike is so emotionally, mentally, and physically draining… You are not a bad person if you don’t like someone. You are not a bad person if someone doesn’t like you.

You will only see the things you are willing to see… You will only hear the things you are willing to hear - read that again, and then say it out loud - Selfforhelp

One day, you will meet someone that opens the space for you to drop your defences, let go of control, and really get to know you. The evolution you will see after that day will surprise everyone. Even you.

Just because it’s a defence mechanism doesn’t mean it’s automatically bad. My life gave me the defence mechanism of the ability to move on quick, and I am grateful for that. #selfawareness #selfacceptance
