I coined a term on This Machine Kills that I feel like needs its own essay: Habsburg AI – a system that is so heavily trained on the outputs of other generative AI's that it becomes an inbred mutant, likely with exaggerated, grotesque features. It joins the lineage of Potemkin AI.

almost no cell signal but maybe this’ll work 2 trees destroyed my roof, living/dining room, flooded my LGR collection rooms down below a dozen or more trees down in frontyard, no way yet to get equipment in to remove trees, roof hole is too big & unstable to put a tarp over it

The Amiga I made Worms on is all recapped and working again! Everything is also finally backed up. So looks like I’ll be getting back into games development. I have a Worms DC update to finish 🪱 #worms

I was looking up some history behind the x86-64 transition, particularly around the Pentium 4 time frame, and I found out that Bob Colwell (Pentium Pro chief architect) has been posting on Quora. Pentium 4 had a version of x86-64 that was fused off.

Colwell: “Intel's Pentium 4 had our own internal version of x86-64. But you could not use it: we were forced to "fuse it off"… I was told, not once, but twice, that if I "didn't stop yammering about the need to go 64-bits in x86 l'd be fired on the spot"…

Andy Davidson I've always loved WormsDC for its customizability, so I have my own self-curated version with my own custom sounds & landscape types/graphics sprinkled in. Lemme know if you're interested in any. I'd be happy to spruce 'em up for ya in the name of Amiga solidarity. 😎
