Fantastic day to be VLKing on the K&A at Seend #lifesbetterbywater

2nd day if four VLKing, what a fabulous Easter did a junior VLK day at Caen hill on Friday, back to lovely Seend flight today

Great Easter on the cut at Seend, good Friday Junior lock keeping session on Caen hill, then Saturday & Sunday very busy happy days VLKing, lots of delightful boaters and fabulous weather, pure heaven! Monday welcome quieter day managed to mow three of our five locks, happy days.

Some boats are a pleasure to help

Slow afternoon lock keeping so did a spot of mowing one down five to go.

Look keeping today at Seend on the K&A decided to knock off early either lunchtime or when temp hit 38c - it’s lunch and 38c, time to go home

Hot day VLKing at Seend 1) the worker 2) the shirkers 3)management “you’ve missed a bit!”

Hot day on the Seend flight on the K&A my iPhone stopped working due to excessive heat we soldiered on 30 boats 1.5 litres of water per VLK copious cups of tea not included.

VLK re-hydration kit x2 we may be hot but we are Happy, oh and a bag of crisps and scratchings for salt replacement.

Over Easter we had a flotilla of Canoeists pass through, they were doing the Devizes to Westminster canoe race unfortunately they had to stop at Reading due to portage points being flooded, they decided to return to Devizes and canoe to Bath instead. #volunteerbywater
