Today is a day I need to spend in the kitchen. Lots of baking and making going on today! Also, letting some of my basil go to seed so it helps fill out this planter of blueberries. Seems like an odd pairing but they have been doing very well together.

I make granola to add to yogurt and fruit. I try to keep it as “healthy” as possible. I usually add my own home grown and home dried fruit. This morning, I noticed a small bag of dried blueberries in the fridge that my son left there for ….a long time. So I threw them in. He

Any reposting is *greatly* appreciated. I have no visibility on this platform. This is pretty much why I held off on self-publishing any of my work—if no one sees it, what on earth is the point? I’ll give the Substack novel a few weeks, but I predict it ain’t gonna last. 😔

Homemade bread with homemade apricot rosemary jam. The apricots and rosemary are from my garden. I usually stop eating by 1600 but I couldn’t resist a little snack before my bedtime routine. I was a grumpy Gus all day for zero reason so I’m putting down the electronics and

I have been online comparison shopping for a chest freezer for weeks. Every day I go looking for a sale or something on fb etc Today I went to Costco for a few things and BAM…right there for less than $200 out the door. Just what I needed. I was getting desperate for freezer

I usually don’t worry about bracing my pumpkins. It seems that if I just let them hang in the tunnel, their stems strengthen as they put on weight and I’ve never had one drop. However, I’ve only been able to get ONE bushel gourd to actually grow this year and I’m stressing a

Here is your yearly reminder to start your fire cider for the year! Kids are going back to school and the crud will be spreading. there are a few different recipes but they all basically have the same ingredients. I used - horseradish (root) - turmeric root - ginger root -
