Data for Progress, the Secure Jobs Act Coalition, and the National Employment Law Project conducted a survey of New York City workers. The polling, now public, showed shocking numbers of unfair repercussions for workers with caretaking responsibilities.

Latine workers reported much higher rates (55%) of being disciplined or fired due to childcare responsibilities compared with white (37%) and Black (26%) workers. 1 in 8 NYC workers say they were disciplined by an employer for leaving work early to take care of a child.
