This is my 71 year old neighbors mica report. It arrived in her email this evening & she asked me to help her understand it. These are the only words in it that matter & I am unable to console her. This is the sharp end Darragh O'Brien, you never have to see the devastation 😢

To add to this tweet, which Irish bank will lend her €60k+ to fix her mica house. @UlsterBankIreland Bank of Ireland AIB @permanenttsb have been silent on this issue. What sympathetic terms are you willing to offer my 71 year old friend in financial distress because of mica?

“I want to be the world champion” 🎶 This song is growing louder as the #WorldCup final awaits Lionel Messi & Argentina. It’s the song fuelling Argentina’s bid to end 36 years of pain.

The defective concrete block scandal is so full of wrongs It was wrong for Donegal County Council to ignore @micaactiongroup when they alerted them about the problem It has wrong for families to have campaign for 12 years It was wrong to blame mica, when pyrrhotite is THE problem

The sun setting on what was the home of Donna and her family This mound of rubble still has a mortgage to settle, and while the Govt spin that their scheme will help families like Donna's, the mountain of debt it will add leaves little solace

I'm very grateful to Keith Duggan for writing this detailed article on what we are living through & my science journey into the defective concrete scandal ‘I never thought I would be on the streets campaigning to ask the Government to pay for my home’ irishtimes.com/life-style/peo…
