On this day in 1985, the BBC showed West Ham vs Manchester Utd live on a Friday night. Unfortunately for football fans, they joined the match 15 mins in, due to the Beeb’s refusal to cancel Wogan for the night. Different times.

Understand that #SWFC have knocked back numerous offers for teen sensation, Caelan Cadamarteri - who scored his 40th goal of the season at the weekend. Many Premier League clubs are interested in the 15-year-old. thestar.co.uk/sport/football… 🦉⚽️

Very sad to hear news that Gerry Murphy has passed away. A face instantly recognisable to many Huddersfield Town fans & a figure who transcended several eras. A fantastic servant of the club, working in the youth setup from 1988-2009, plus 3 spells as caretaker manager. RIP Gerry Murphy.
