The High School Heroes visited MTP to teach our second graders all about the Junior Achievement program called Our Community. Second graders learned about jobs, money and how to be responsible citizens in a community. Smithtown CSD Mt. Pleasant ES



Look who visited MTP, QuackerJack, from the Long Island Ducks. He wanted to make sure everyone knew to come to the June 17th game at 6:30 pm & support our 5th grade chorus. They will be performing the National Anthem. Tickets are available for purchase. Smithtown CSD @scsd_mtp


Bob “Dinoman” Lisaius visits 2nd grade. Students had a blast and many laughs learning about the Mesozoic Era, dinosaurs, their behaviors and how fossils were created. During this magical Dino Workshop fossils were examined and discussed in depth. Smithtown CSD Mt. Pleasant ES

PANCAKES WITH THE PRINCIPAL 🥞 As a reward for having the most PARP reading minutes, first graders at Mt. Pleasant ES were served a pancake breakfast courtesy of Principal Ierano! #BELIEVE

2nd graders researched dinosaurs, & created beautiful "Dino Dioramas". Students then shared their dinosaur knowledge with family members during their end of year Dinosaur Show. It was a "dinomite" performance full of dino facts, jokes & songs. Smithtown CSD Mt. Pleasant ES

3rd graders put on an educational puppet show, Tales Around The World. They researched countries, to present short story tales. They created beautiful puppets that depict characters from these countries & practiced lines & songs for this incredible show! Smithtown CSD Mt. Pleasant ES

5th graders received their Class of 2025 Yearbook. Students had fun looking at photos reminiscing with friends about all the memories they shared. Thank you to the MTP Yearbook Club for filling the pages with pictures of students through the years. Smithtown CSD Mt. Pleasant ES


Three lucky students won the MTP Fun Fest Raffle- Be the Principal For A Day- They did a great job helping Mr. Ierano, and had fun learning all about what makes a Principal so important to the school! Great job girls ! Smithtown CSD @sscd_mtp


First graders learned all about the life cycles of various insects. As a culminating activity, students performed an end of the year show for their families called The BUGZ Show. Their performance was full of singing, dancing, and lots of adorable bugs. Smithtown CSD Mt. Pleasant ES

4th graders visited Blydenburgh Park as part of their social studies curriculum & learned about lifestyles of Colonial Americans. The interactive activities & historical demonstrations were an amazing learning experience. The trip brought history to life! Smithtown CSD Mt. Pleasant ES


Mrs. Lynch, Smithtown Public Liberian talked to students about the Children's Summer Reading programs at Smithtown Libraries. Students can read anything that interests them, enter raffles & win prizes. Sign up at a Smithtown Library starting June 16th. Smithtown CSD Mt. Pleasant ES


Quogue Wildlife Refuge came for a visit at MTP! 3rd graders meet a variety of snakes, turtles, & tortoises at school! They learned what a refuge is, about various reptiles, their lifestyles, & how they can help some of our local reptile species. Smithtown CSD Mt. Pleasant ES

5th grader, Ivy Cortez, spoke to her class about affirmations & how they helped her. One day she was upset, so she made a book of positive statements to make her feel better. Her mom called it her “affirmations”. Ivy inspired her peers to make their own. Smithtown CSD Mt. Pleasant ES


Kindergarteners at Mt. Pleasant Elementary put on a wonderful, "Moving Up" show for their families.. Not only did they sing their hearts out, but they designed self portrait t-shirts! Smithtown CSD Mt. Pleasant ES

There is no better way to end the school year than to have a day outside to experiment with BUBBLES! Educator, Ms. Jenn, from The Long Island Children’s Museum joined MTP kindergarteners to make tons of bubbles and bubble art. Smithtown CSD Mt. Pleasant ES
