Let’s be clear: this is a revival of Section 28. Transgender people exist; no legislation can erase that reality. It didn’t work before, & it only inflicted lasting harm on a generation of LGB people. This guidance is grotesquely transphobic & driven entirely by baseless ideology

It’s important to protect children online, but tech firms and legislators must make sure that they don’t lock children out of material they have a right to access – and that the line between “appropriate” and “inappropriate” isn’t discriminatory.

For everyone that was saying “it’s just to stop kids watching porn” very first day of the restrictions it’s been used to censor “violence” which in this case means police arresting people at protests, well done

1 in 5 Dubliners isn't white. Also I've lived most of my life in Ireland, and I wouldn't say Billie looks particularly Irish. This is just nasty work - girl needs some work

What Diaz and Mosese do with digital is outrageous. Fully convinced me that there's really no reason to use film anymore. Fully convinced!

"The guidance also ban trans men from female toilets on the basis that their presence would cause "alarm or distress". Which means trans men are banned from everywhere...

This also bans trans men from all facilities and makes it *unlawful* for a women's group to include trans women even if every member and organiser wants them there. It is quite literally to the far, far right of Thatcher's position on LGBTQ rights. It is fascism beyond measure.
