The solution lies in increased production. By domestically producing, mining, and growing more of what we consume, we can boost real wages and wealth as a nation to overcome the burden of debt and inflation. It works every time. Need tariffs, managed trade, and managed currency.

Same issue with nitrile gloves. Even after the lessons learned during the pandemic, 5 years later we’re still importing 98% of our needs. China now controls 90% of our supply. You cannot manufacture pharmaceuticals or semiconductors without nitrile gloves.

Zach Mottl Absolutely. Manufacturing jobs drive all other job creation from engineering to drafting, to R&D, to transportation, to restaurants, to product service, to advertising etc. Service economies are unsustainable because, when others manufacture, they take the service jobs.

We need to keep bringing attention to the issue. After 2 years visiting the Hill about domestic nitrile glove production, most people thought the problem was “solved” by HHS. Probably time to do a “war game” scenario of China cutting off medical supplies and pharmaceuticals. x.com/rosemary100/st…

Wall Street is not the economy, Main Street is"backbone" of the economy. And Main Street is going to explode under President Trump 🇺🇸🙌🇺🇸 Small business employs nearly half of the American workforce and account for a substantial portion of the GDP.

China dominates strategic industries. It did the same with nitrile gloves and its associated supply chain. From 2020-2022 it added 100B units of production capacity and now accounts for 50% of our finished goods supply and controls another 40%+ through raw materials.

This is how we begin to create supply chain resiliency for pharmaceuticals. We now need to do the same for medical consumables. whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/20…

1/5 🧵America used to be the world's factory. Now China makes everything—from tools to microchips. This isn't just an economic problem—it's a national emergency. How long can America defend her freedom when she buys the defense equipment from China? No industry. No nation.

This is how we break free from dependence on China for this critical part of our medical supply chain. This framework now needs to be applied to medical consumables (PPE, IV tubing, syringes, blood vials, wound care, etc) where we have a similar dependence on China.

We’ve been pleading with administrations, elected officials, and agencies for over a decade to take these very actions. It’s so wonderful that in just a few months, President Donald J. Trump administration is running fast and making real progress. It gives me hope that we will see a brighter,

We did it - we've got a bipartisan bill that effectively codifies POTUS' two biggest IEEPA tariffs orders: 👉 the +10% Universal; and 👉 the +20% for China. (The China portion of the bill goes further). Very appreciative to Congressman Jared Golden and my own Congressman, Ways and Means Committee

this is one of my favorite stats for OEMs, while they have an army to beat up suppliers on pennies for parts, the true cost of inefficient production is astronomical

“With American deaths caused by Covid-19 now well exceeding Vietnam War casualty figures…the CCP's covert program to develop…pathogens qualifies as a WMD program.” Coupled with controlling our medical supply chain, the CCP can inflict devastating damage to us.
