It would be very wise to fund alternate models of care like non operative OA care, direct referrals to specialists and imaging and preventative healthcare - now that is true health reform that saves money and improves outcomes.

#physios assist many women across their lifetime to ensure they can live a pain free, optimal life. This is a welcome announcement and one the Australian Physiotherapy Association have been Advocating for for many years. 🙏

It’s time to ensure all women have access to best practice care in Primary Health Care when they need it and where they need it. No Australian should be left behind. #physio

What would be even more cost savings would be if the consumer didn’t have to see a GP - investment in preventative care, better care pathways, integrated true primary health care outside of the GP surgery and funding high value care that delivers outcomes. Australian Physiotherapy Association

This is a great investment for all Australians. Investing into preventative care, better pathways, high value primary health care that occurs outside general practice is the next step to see true health reform. Funding is one area of concern for Rural and remote Health workers but enabling the use of full scope of practice, preventative health and patient pathways will actually save money to reinvest into these areas. It’s time for true health reform on top of Medicare funding.

It would be better economics and health outcomes to invest in Multidisciplinary care to assist GP’s manage the chronic disease issue that we are seeing post pandemic. It’s teamwork that will see better health outcomes and not fragmentation. Australian Physiotherapy Association

An election budget and no real focus on health reform like improving access to quality multidisciplinary care, high value care or system changes to Medicare to make it contemporary and fit for the future.
