This line of work has its challenges, but a student reaching out based on a comment in lecture to talk career goals and research brightens the day.

Land grant universities are amazing places. They provide applied research but educate key jobs such as teachers, nursing, and engineering. The ROI is incredibly high and the spillover effects make everyone better off; even if they do not attend college. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
