THREAD. The New York Times editorial on the New York City Mayor race is shameful. A lot of people have criticized its cowardice for refusing to endorse, but I want to highlight something deeper and more disturbing.

This morning, I was asked by a reporter why I haven't had a more visceral reaction to being called an antisemite. Here was my response.

I remember Juneteenth when my son was just 5. I was a public defender & spoke openly about the systems I encountered. I described “slavery.” As Black people caged & chained, separated from families, & treated like animals. His response: “Just like jail, right?” He understood.

A special and surreal feeling to cast this ballot. What an honor to be on this journey with all of you.
