Fluffy has been rereading all of Dusti Bowling 🌵 's books to prepare for her presentations at Robertsville Middle on October 31 and November 2. A student asked him about his favorite novel by Dusti Bowling. He replied "I love them all. They are better than bacon!"

Fluffy and I are in this month's School Library Journal SchoolLibraryJournal in an article about children's picture books. Thanks to Margaret Kingsbury for asking me to contribute my thoughts on the disability experience for children.

Saturday is a big day at the YALSA Symposium. I will be introducing the four authors (Jas Hammonds, Vincent Tirado, Camille Gomera-Tavarez, and Francesca Padilla) as well as the moderator Kyrie McCauley for the William C. Morris panel. #YALSA22

I know the UT Vols are playing Georgia on Saturday, but I would rather be at the YALSA Symposium listening to A.S. King at the MAE Luncheon and then touring the famous Enoch Pratt Library in the evening. #YALSA22

Nothing in my 25 years of librarianship has been more meaningful for me than helping to create two shelves to honor the memory of Robertsville Middle's long time library assistant Carol Husband. She worked for 20 years in the library, and her legacy will live on through these donated books.

I am sincerely honored to have served on ALA's jury for the 2023 Schneider Family Book Award. This award recognizes children's and YA books that best represent the artistic expression of the disability experience. A big shout out to the other wonderful members of the 2023 jury!
