this was a place. life has been hard in gaza for a long time but it was life. people went to school here, to work, wrote books, ate ice cream, had kids, bought houses, painted, went on dates, took out the bins. this was a place and now it’s gone

The line should be that we don't negotiate with génocidaires. Because there are no words that will stop them, no laws they won't flout and no one they won't feed into the machinery of death. There's no negotiation with that. Only stopping it.

I don't know this person but the world of poetry is not so large that someone does not know this person. One of you folks in the universe of poetry/poem-making has to know who this person is and I would hope you get them together or aid some folks who will make this right.

Official news now! Excited to share these poems and experiences from one of my uncanniest jobs. (Also, this photo of me with round cheeks and short hair, so many imaginations ago)....

I cannot believe that in the year 2024 such a sentence is allowed to exist, in the open air, like this. That we are expected to see it, ingest it, & go on. We cannot go on. No person should utter this statement, digitally, or otherwise & be left to incoming danger in silence.

Today in The Nation we have a piece by Lujayn, a 14-year-old girl in Gaza, that has floored me every time I've read it. It's about what happened when an Israeli bulldozer came to destroy the house she was staying in, and you must, must, must read it. thenation.com/article/world/…

They did not mean to kill the children. They meant to. Too many kids got in the way of precisely imprecise one-ton bombs dropped a thousand and one times over the children’s nights. —Fady Joudah

The flour massacre, the tents massacre, the hospital massacre, the refugee camp massacre, the ‘safe corridor’ massacre, the endless massacres, in homes, on the streets, in tents, on foot— eight months of massacre after massacre after massacre.
