The MAGAs in my feed are convinced that budget deficits are caused by immigrant benefits, while the progressives blame them all on the rich not paying taxes. And the fury with which both sides respond to the mountain of contrary evidence begins to look psychological in nature.

I continue to be baffled by this argument. Trump is a protectionist, old-school Democrat who spends like a drunken sailor. Milei believes in free trade, free markets, and has radically cut spending. They are, in many ways, complete opposites.

Trump and Milei are complete opposites. Trump is a deficit-increasing, tariff loving socialist who literally has gotten the federal government involved with owning key companies and the means of production (Intel, MP Materials, Lithium Americas, Trilogy Metals, U.S. Steel Corp).

This is bizarre. Kevin Roberts makes about $1 million to run a politics org. If he truly didn't know what Nick Fuentes & Tucker Carlson were up to, that doesn't acquit him, because it means he's making an obscene amount of money to be very bad at his job. What a strange defense.

OPINION by Michael Schaus: Is Nevada ready to reprise its role as ground zero for nuke tests? Trump’s flirtation with restarting the Cold War arms race is troubling — and dangerous. Read it here: thenevadaindependent.com/article/opinio…

People are focused on the silly rebate promise. But President Trump's assertion that Washington will soon begin running budget surpluses and paying down the debt is completely detached from reality. It's like announcing that 2+2=purple.

Did the Conservative movement flop, as many right-oriented populists claim? Just a few policy examples: In 1980, 1 state had a "shall issue" concealed carry law. Today "shall issue" (or no permit) is the rule in all 50 states. In 1980, the top marginal income tax bracket was

But I was reliably told that foreign countries pay the tariffs. So why would removing coffee tariffs result in lower prices for Americans?

My 7-year-old daughter has decided she likes punk music. 🤘 As someone who grew up blaring punk anthems from my stereo, I'm totally down with that... but, shockingly, age-appropriate songs are hard to find. Nonetheless, it gave me an idea for an essay: bit.ly/4pcUvgB

Michael Thom, an associate professor of public policy at the University of Southern California, told the Post-Gazette that, generally, film tax credit programs offer “no employment impact” and are “a large drain” from a state’s budget “that will have to be made up with spending

Inflation is caused by an increase in the money supply. What the study shows is that tariffs make Americans poorer by making both tariffed and tariff-free goods more expensive. This reduces economic demand and causes an economic contraction. What an idiotic thing to brag about.

This is legit question. Considering that at least one member was allowed to vote remotely to accommodate vacation plans, I'm wondering where the line on this stuff is anymore. #nvleg

Florida did a review of the ROI to states from film tax credits. They all lose money. Florida abolished its program. Michigan followed.

Michael Brown In Michigan, the film tax credit was so obviously terrible that even the husband of the head of the state’s film office voted to eliminate it.

So many things wrong with this. 1) admin has no authority here 2) tariffs haven’t generated enough revenue to do this and leave $ leftover 3) inflationary and does not address actual affordability issue (getting prices down) 4) poor use of $$
