“Tell your colleagues: Historically, there were many systems that were status quo, which we now look back on with disgust. Ask them: ‘when the reckoning comes for homelessness, which side of history will you be on?’”

Access to emergency shelter fundamentally changed my life, giving me the opportunity & space to escape homelessness. The MA state legislature must maintain the existing “right” to shelter, to prevent families from falling into the cycle of homelessness, poverty, and trauma.

MLRI's Executive Director Georgia Katsoulomitis pushed back on proposed shelter cuts in a letter to Boston Globe Opinion: "There can be no shelter caps if the only answer — and inevitable result — is sending families onto the street." bostonglobe.com/2024/03/20/opi… #mapoli

Today, the eve of my Suffolk University Law School commencement, my most recent Boston Globe Opinion article has been published, where I describe my lived experiences and longstanding belief in a world without homelessness, built from policies that make housing a human right bostonglobe.com/2024/05/18/opi…

Yesterday, separate from my Boston Globe Opinion article, my story about overcoming and surviving homelessness was featured in The Boston Globe. Proud to have had another chance to share my story as I prepare to graduate!

I live with constant gratitude for the legal aid attorneys who intervened in my own family’s life, and showed me that a better path - and world - out of poverty was possible

Public housing is a lifeline for millions of families. But the chronic underfunding of public housing is a disgrace to our values and has real consequences. Republicans can and must join us in taking action to improve the quantity and quality of public housing.

Just another gross person who views the homeless as inhuman…she coerced an unhoused, mentally ill person to jump into a lake on a bet - - who could not swim - - and then ran away when they cried for help. The classism is beyond abhorrent

Can you determine if someone is likely to harass you for your political beliefs online? Is it appropriate to block folks likely to harass you in the future? Ifat Gazia and her team look at tensions between Kashmiris and Hindutva to propose a promising new strategy.

Our paper is out now! 👇 It explores the lived experiences of dissidents facing cyber-harassment while they fight for human rights, & proposes a filter to identify and block likely harassers as a remedy. So proud to have been part of this effort with such a great team!

Clarence Thomas reversed his position on the Chevron doctrine after receiving gifts from billionaires with ties to orgs who wanted it overturned. His wife's nonprofit also received cash from a conservative group pushing for the change. Our highest court is beyond compromised.

Yet another sickening decision that reinforces our country’s cruelty and dehumanization of unhoused communities. It also flies in the face of all facts: anti-homeless criminalization laws only exacerbate homelessness and lead to the evisceration of their civil & human rights

Tim Scalona (@scalonatim) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The idea that the Supreme Court is a neutral arbiter of the law is shown to be an utter farce when conservative justices parlay with billionaires and then swiftly come out with a decision that directly serves their corporate interest

With him selected as the GOP VP candidate, just a reminder that @JDVance1’s “Hillbilly Elegy” does *not* speak for poverty in this country. It blames the victims of poverty for their conditions instead of attacking the systems that allow it to exist. washingtonpost.com/opinions/i-gre…

My most recent Boston Globe Opinion piece (and first as a lawyer) is on the subject of the Mass family shelter system. I write about my lived experiences, and argue against changes by the gov & the legislature to make it more difficult for folks to get shelter. bostonglobe.com/2025/02/17/opi…
