Last night S.C. Department of Education unveiled the 2020 SC African American History Calendar. We are honored to partner with South Carolina African American History Calendar to make the African American history calendar available in every public school in SC. Congratulations to the honorees!
December's SC African American History Calendar honoree is Isaac Washington, Sr. Washington is most well known for his illustrious career in media, in addition to advocating for civil rights, and is a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps! .S.C. Department of Education is accepting nominations for the 2021 S.C. African American History Calendar. Nominees will be chosen based on their accomplishments and impact on African American history and culture. Nominations will be accepted until March 2, 2020 at bit.ly/2Fza0LZ.
Dr. Vivian Ayers Allen, from Chester, SC, is a world renowned poet, cultural activist, and American classicist. Rear Admiral Reubin Bookert is the Feb. honoree of the SC African American History Calendar.
