For most holidays there is a special playlist available in store for us to play while we work. But could Starbucks be bothered to give us our very own playlist?! No, we don’t even get a disingenuous “HAPPY JUNETEENTH” on social media, No merchandise created by black artists.

And obviously no genuine engagement with black baristas and their struggles within this company when we make up a large percentage of their workforce. Corporate offices are closed today, while we are at work.

They’re not even trying to hide their bullshit anymore. It’s in the open for all to see. WE MEAN NOTHING!

This is why we organize, the issues we face in our shops aren't just wage issues, or labor issues but racial issues as well. Black partners have been ignored and written off by Starbucks for far too long and its time we stand up.
