Ashy-headed Wagtail at the north end of SMI Wetland currently!!

Slowly getting used to my new Preesall, Lancashire surroundings locally despite vismig being my main birding from the house roof. Yesterday 5 Little Terns was apparently quite a decent record only to be followed by 6 today so presumably the same.

Out with the dogs after the rain hoping for some migrants dropping in was a bit poor but a late pink rumped Twite was nice as was 3 Yellow wagtails in the White Wagtail flock which numbered 12 today the return walk also yielding a few Whimbrels.

Just found an absolutely stonking male Collared Flycatcher at Creachan, a species I've been dreaming of finding for years! This is the first for Barra and the third for the Outer Hebrides.

Bumper bug day in the Spurn Bird Observatory recording area today, highlights including a White-letter Hairstreak low down and a briefly twitchable Dark Green Fritillary in Kilnsea, Small Copper in Corner Field and Spurn's 2nd Keeled Skimmer released from the Church Field heligoland.

Lovely few days at home in Lancs with Cuckoo and Whinchat the pick of the migrants and taking Freddie to this first Airshow in Blackpool at the weekend. Keeping us awake for 6 nights and counting in a row the downside!!
