The First Half Supplemental Returning Worker allocation remains open. Many of our members received receipt notices yesterday for petitions received by USCIS on Monday. It looks like most March 1s will get through and maybe even some mid-March dates. Good news!

Well done Veronica Birkenstock! Yes, H-2B is part of the solution to the illegal migration and the workforce crises. H-2B workers work then go home each year. It works brilliantly. Time for Congress to put politics aside and use this program to help alleviate the influx at the border.

At today's Senate DHS Appropriations markup hearing, Sen. Lisa Murkowski said that she held off on offering an amendment exempting seafood processors from the cap because of the "global deal" being worked on by Graham and Padilla. A good sign that this deal is recognized as the fix!

This is a major difference between the H1B and H2B programs. H2B workers are paid the Level 3 wage which is the average wage for the occupation. H2B workers do not undercut the labor market - in fact - since most of the jobs are entry level jobs, they raise wages for U.S. workers
