A workshop on Information Security Measures at the #OPEC Secretariat took place on 12 May 2022 via videoconference. The Secretariat presented its IT infrastructure, services, and policies and procedures.

OPEC today welcomed its new Secretary General, HE Haitham Al Ghais of Kuwait. HE Al Ghais was appointed by acclamation for the post for a three-year term at the Special Meeting of the OPEC Conference held on 3 January 2022.

On behalf of the OPEC Secretariat, Dr Mohamed Sarrab, IT Development Coordinator, Data Services Department, participated in a panel discussion at the 2nd edition of the Digital Transformation Kuwait Conference hosted on 20-21 November 2023, Kuwait.
