Looks like this AuroraWatch UK alert is a false alarm - there is some interference with the magnetometer at Sumburgh Head in the Shetlands which has triggered the system.

My assessment that AuroraWatch UK red alert was a false alarm, may itself have been false! 🤦‍♂️We’re temporarily without a backup sensor in Aberdeenshire due to a comms issue, so hard to verify activity. But thanks to everyone who has been sharing aurora pictures from northern UK!
