As part of UK Parliament week, our local MP, Gareth Snell visited school this morning. He spoke to Year 6 pupils about his role as an MP and he was then asked some challenging questions by our school councillors.

Mrs Frost's class enjoyed choosing their first book from the lovely selection in the library this week. Mr Frost's class are looking forward to their visit next week.

The children in Miss Hodgson's class had such a fantastic time exploring our school library.

Year 2 have worked incredibly hard on their writing this week. We have written a draft of 'The True Story of the Three Little Pigs' and then improved our punctuation and spellings. Today we became authors and published our work. You should all be very proud!

Year 2 were very excited to create art work for the School Council's visit to Longton Market. They look beautiful!

Mr Alcock's class have loved going into the library this afternoon to swap their books again. Keep an eye out for your child's library book. We're sure they'll be keen to share them with you.

Miss Lockett’s class were so excited to be in the school library this week! They loved exploring the shelves, choosing their new books and then showing their friends the one they chose! We are all so excited to go back into the library next week! 📚

Year 2 were greeted this morning with a special delivery from our elf. We needed to use the clues to predict what was in it. It was fragile, covered in snow and had air holes. We discovered that whatever was inside liked to eat fish. What could it be?

Many congratulations to Thea for winning this 'Player of the match' award this weekend for her football team, Blythe Tigers. Great job Thea and hopefully Sarina Wiegman is keeping a close eye on your ever-developing career.

Well done to Kaiden for receiving an encouragement certificate for the progress he has made towards his next goal and belt in karate.

This week, the children in Reception are reading the story 'Whatever Next' by Jill Murphy. In our Science lessons, we are learning about the moon and how it has craters. To see how craters are formed, we dropped a rock in flour which represented the moon.

What a lovely way to start Advent! Our Reading Champions delivered 12 wrapped books to each class. Each day, classes will open one of the books and share it with their children. We were so grateful to have books gifted to us this year from the National Literacy Trust Stoke.

Year 6 boys were proud to share the biographies which they've written. Well done to Miller, Henry, Suleiman, Hashir and Jake. Fantastic writing!

Congratulations to Savannah who has received her Rainbow Distance swimming award after swimming 10 metres. What a superstar!

Logan has been making fantastic progress with his Karate and is now working towards his next goal of 8th Kyu. Keep up the great work Logan.

Year 2 have been practising their sewing this afternoon. We have threaded the needle, tied a knot and learnt how to cross stitch. I can't wait to see our Christmas sewing in a few weeks. Well done Year 2!

Some of the year 4 children visited Trentham Academy for a sporting event this week. They thoroughly enjoyed all of the activities and they represented the school beautifully.
