I don’t know about Google, but bulk of my FB experience was a lot of furiously working long hours on things that largely ultimately only made sense in an internal frame of reference. I think there is an abundance of hustle in FANGs but for the wrong things.

this is like my favorite tho, the font screams word art / geocities 3.0 -- they just need marquees + gotta make those stars blink

We’re building a safer future one ride at a time, and I’m thrilled to share that we've just surpassed 100k paid trips per week! Congratulations to the entire Waymo team on this incredible milestone, and thank you to our riders who make this journey possible.

PSA i can spoof any mit.edu email and it will pass all DKIM/SPF/etc. checks. here's an email i sent to myself pretending to be a famous MIT-affiliated podcaster - thanks gmail for auto-inserting the profile pic :) MIT may fix this someday but in the meantime

1. The axis that matters is now elites vs. populists, not left vs. right. In this alignment, Kamala Harris and Dick Cheney are on the same side; Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders are together on the other.

1/ Founders live for proof of product market fit. For undeniable evidence that what you're building matters. I've seen it before at Facebook and Dropbox. In 2024 I saw it at South Park Commons. This is what PMF looks like for -1 to 0 🧵

1/ Founder Fellowship applications are open South Park Commons & due Feb 2nd. Others focus on signs of traction. We think support is most impactful much earlier, when ambition first inflects your curiosity. Just look at the numbers. 🧵

In 2020, I had a conversation that changed the way I look at startups Turns out there's a repeatable process that can find venture-scale startups and, crucially, keep you sane in the early idea maze This knowledge has been locked up, and I finally just had to write it down:

people eating fish out of mercury contaminated lakes saying “I’ve never gotten sick from this” sometimes FAFO takes 10+ years

2/ Great founders shouldn't fear fundraising, they should fear local maxima. Too many brilliant people spend years scaling the wrong hill. We give them the time, space, and support to pick the right mountain. x.com/rsanghvi/statu…

academia and the sf frontier lab milieu have strikingly different research mindsets academia: i read the literature, what can i add that’s novel? frontier labs: i ran the baseline, how can i make it better? when a field is young like LLMs, the latter is often more productive

Language models hallucinate despite scaling to trillions of parameters and tokens. You reduce portfolio risk by diversifying stocks. So we asked: What if you could diversify your LLM's neurons? Spoiler alert: Neurodiversity reduces hallucination by up to 26% (15% avg). [🧵1/4]
