Saddened and shocked to hear about the assassination attempt on Charlie Kirk. I disagree strongly with most of his political positions, but respect how he debates, and I hope he pulls through. Worrying how polarised politics has become.

My thoughts this evening are with the loved ones of Charlie Kirk. It is heartbreaking that a young family has been robbed of a father and a husband. We must all be free to debate openly and freely without fear - there can be no justification for political violence.

Now all the reshuffling is over, I am pleased to share that the government has trusted me to carry on speaking truth to power on behalf of my constituents from the back benches.

So can I just be clear. What some people are arguing is it's not dangerous incitement to tweet "Set fire to all the fucking hotels full of the bastards for all I care". But it is dangerous incitement to tweet someone is "Far Right".

Such respect for Governor Cox for the heartfelt, thoughtful plea he just delivered to our frayed American community. We can continue to barrel down this path of increasing violence, or choose a better path and resist the siren song of hate and division.
