We stood w/ survivors to call for the #CREEPAct (A3226/S3394)—my bill w State Senator Andrew Gounardes to let stalking victims get a Civil Order of Protection before violence happens. 43 states already allow this. NY should too. Thank you Carrie Goldberg + all the survivor justice advocates!

We’re so proud of Danny Stewart, Director of Operations and Finance of our Streetwork Project, for being named in City & State NY’s Pride Trailblazers list! Join us in celebrating his well-earned recognition! 👏 cityandstateny.com/power-lists/20…

Funding chaos is forcing service providers to operate in a way that doesn’t take into account the whole picture: “How do you talk to teens about preventing dating abuse or stalking without discussing social and cultural forces?” Rachel Louise Snyder New York Times Opinion nytimes.com/2025/06/02/opi…

This morning, we joined survivors, advocates, and allies on the steps of City Hall to demand the passage of Int 1216. This bill requires Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence to create and distribute multilingual posters about potential signs of GBV and resources for survivors to beauty salons across NYC.

.Safe Horizon is deeply grateful to New York City Council Adrienne Adams for once again bolstering our response to victims of violence across #NYC. Council funding in FY26 will help us provide support to children & adults in need of assistance, and help keep New Yorkers safe.

.Safe Horizon is especially grateful to @Althea4theBx for championing new funding for our Streetwork Project, which provides youth experiencing homelessness with short-term shelter and supportive resources. Young people deserve to feel safe, wherever they are. New York City Council

The New York City Council's ongoing support for our Child Advocacy Centers, legal services & mental health counseling, SafeChat and Community Programs, Streetwork & DOVE Initiatives ensures that Safe Horizon will be there for New Yorkers when crises hit. Because safety is a human right.

“We get results for the clients. That’s what drives us, that’s what keeps us going.” A huge congrats to Leardo Lopez, Senior Supervising Attorney at our Immigration Law Project, for being honored in City & State NY's 2025 Above & Beyond: Social Services awards!
