Jason Harlow said he wanted to give this Chelsea core a banner to enshrine its success forever. Mission accomplished. The Hornets are Class 6A, Area 8 champions, and one of those seniors, Haley Trotter, is the area tournament MVP.

Halftime: Chelsea Girls BBall 44, Calera 15. Incredible quarter from the Hornets. Sadie Schwallie had one of her best shooting runs of the season while the defense forced frequent steals and held the Eagles to just three points.

Just did the math. 22-0 run for Chelsea during the second. It kicked off with three unanswered 3’s from Sadie Schwallie, so by NBA Jam standards, she was on fire for much of the second.

The Alabama Sports Writers Association has chosen Aiden Hughes as the Class 6A Player of the Year for the state of Alabama. They also have named Paxton Stallings as an All-State Honorable Mention as a Utility player. Congratulations to both guys!
