CARNEY'S BUDGET TRICKERY Carney claims he'll balance the "operating budget" in three years. In reality, he has no plan to balance anything - only a plan to COOK THE BOOKS. His creative accounting is designed to HIDE HIS MASSIVE DEFICIT SPENDING.👇

Who is right on the Carney Government’s controversial financing of BC Ferries’ purchase of 4 ships from a Chinese state owned shipyard? Chrystia Freeland ‘not $1 of federal money’ or Gregor Robertson ‘I didn’t know we were funding $1 billion, but I will ask for a briefing’?

I joined Kelowna Now live to break down the BC Ferries shipbuilding fiasco by the NDP and the federal $1 billion loan that’s fuelling it. This is about jobs, values, and our sovereignty. We need to pull that money back. Here’s the interview — check it out:👇🏽

"David Eby spent weeks in the Legislature justifying Bill 7 as necessary to defend BC's economy from foreign tariffs and economic threats. Now, faced with China's tariffs on Canadian goods and BC Ferries awarding shipbuilding contracts to China, the Premier says he's powerless.

The B.C. NDP gave themselves the tools to cancel the B.C. Ferries contract. Premier Eby begged for the extraordinary overreach powers in Bill 7, the Economic Stabilization (Tariff Response) Act, to deal with tariff threats. The Act includes powers for Cabinet to order binding

I’m proud to sign the Build BC pledge because I believe in standing up for BC workers, growing our economy, and keeping opportunity here at home.    The NDP talks about “Buy BC,” but when it really mattered, they sent jobs overseas. It’s time to back our people and build our

BC Health Minister Josie Osborne has called a press conference for tomorrow morning at 11am. The topic ostensibly being discussed is measles spread in BC, but I can think of another topic that might be discussed. My show happens to start at 11am so we'll be covering it live.

The Liberals and NDP are trying to gaslight Canadians into accepting that the $600 million taxpayer subsidy to BC Ferries (to purchase ships from a state-owned shipyard in China) is somehow justified because “there were no Canadian bids”. Two things. 🧵

Aaron Gunn (@aarongunn) 's Twitter Profile Photo

First, the reason there were no “Canadian bids” is that the contract was structured in such a way as to knowingly preclude Canadian bidders.

Aaron Gunn (@aarongunn) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Seaspan, for example, has openly and repeatedly stated both its desire and ability to construct large vessels for BC Ferries – just not at the timeline and price of a shipyard in China that uses 7X cheaper labour, Chinese steel and is an arm of the Chinese Communist Government.

Aaron Gunn (@aarongunn) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Secondly, even if BC Ferries had a pressing need to deliver these vessels immediately (you should have a plan to gradually replace aging ships laid out years in advance), there is no reason why they should be purchased from an adversarial nation like China.

Aaron Gunn (@aarongunn) 's Twitter Profile Photo

This is a country that is currently engaged in unfair trade practices, has imposed malicious 100% tariffs on many of Canada’s agricultural goods and has been deliberately trying to expand its shipbuilding footprint while its top geopolitical priority is the annexation of Taiwan.

The fact that not only was this decision made by our government but is being SUBSIDIZED using taxpayer money is an insult to workers in British Columbia and taxpayers across our country. Under the Conservatives, all federal support for this acquisition will cease immediately.

Dan’s asking the right questions! Freeland says “not $1 of federal money.” Robertson says “I didn’t know we were funding $1 billion.” So who’s lying—Freeland or Robertson?! Canadians need the truth about this billion-dollar gift to a Chinese state-owned shipyard.
