It was a fun day at Triad! The boys had a nice meet, set some PRs and SRs, and all in all, we go home happy. Highlight of the meet - Logan Smallwood ran a new school record of 49.45 in the 400 to take 3rd. Here he is, learning that he just claimed the record for his own!

We have our final regular season meet of the year today, the Geneseo McCormick ABC Invite, and our team is fully together for the first time all outdoor. Mother nature is playing nice. Time to go have a day! athletic.net/TrackAndField/…

Unreal 100 meter dash tonight in the Mid-Illini track meet. Metamora's Jaiduan Cranford wins in 10.84, Limestone's Logan Smallwood 2nd in 10.86, Morton's Cole Rinkenberger 3d in 10.89. Serious Speed!

Here’s our amazing flight crew, sending 4 events to state 🔥🚀 So proud of these guys, as they ignited the fire in field events to motivate our team. Only 1 had a PR, but with yesterday’s weather, it was all about survive and advance, and they all did!

Our 4x1 has struggled with handoffs this year, but we live to see another race running a 42.8 to take 3rd. With 3 great handoffs, this group could do some special things. Looking to iron out the kinks this week!

Logan has been a killer for our team all year, and he continued that at sectionals, qualifying with our 4x1 and individually in the 100 and 400 running 10.90 to finish 3rd and 50.09 to win.

Joey Shields was the surprise. Joey does both baseball and track, limiting his practice time and the meets he can compete in. In only his 4th 300 hurdle race of the year, he ran a 40.78, taking 7th in a loaded sectional to move on to state. What a stud!

Kamar Sanders was our last qualifier in the 200. After being gassed last year and just missing the qual mark, Kamar ran 22.24 to take second and advance!

Such a cool video of Tyler Hammond clearing state qual height with all the raw emotion on display. Big thanks to our volunteer coach and school record holder, Keith Ganson, who Tyler hugs to end this video. Couldn’t have been done without your help and expertise!

Kamar Sanders finishes his Rockets’ career with a 7th place finish in the LJ, good enough for an all-state medal, while Nate Silomba finishes his season in 12th. Nate will be our leader on the runway next season, looking for some hardware of his own.

Logan Smallwood finishes his season as the state runner up in the 400 with a new PR of 49.26, lowering his own school record. His signature final push came up just .08 short of the win, but we are so proud of his efforts and his finish to such a special season! 📸 cred - PJStar
