I will never understand why student curriculums include so many different ways to count, add, subtract, multiply and divide instead of focusing on the most effective ways. Granted, teaching may require various approaches, but they should not be forced on students.

Reading counts! 📚

This is such a serious problem in the city where I tutor. Students quickly lose interest in learning when they are unable to read homework questions, homework assignments, etc. It affects math problems, too. Yet they are being promoted with acceptable grades.

Interested in people's thought on this. Especially would like to hear views from those in school districts and states with results similar to this:

Is this what Durham residents want their money spent on? This, instead of education and law enforcement, for example.

As I like to say, "Some people aren't happy unless they're unhappy."
