We're pleased to announce our slate of events for the Fall 2024 semester! All three are FREE and open to the public, so we hope to see many of you at all of them! Save the dates, and stay tuned for more information about each in coming weeks!

This season of #MedievalMascotMatchup opens with a real Tennessee showdown! The state’s name comes from the 17th-c. Cherokee settlement Tanasi between Knoxville and Chattanooga, and features our state dog (bluetick coonhound Smokey) and state bird (mockingbird Scrappy)!

With the new semester in full swing, our Marco community is back with lots of exciting programming! Yesterday, the Late Antique Research Seminar, hosted by Denbo Center for Humanities & the Arts, held its first meeting of the year, discussing a new article by Professor Tina Shepardson!

Our new Medieval Reading Group also had its first meeting here in our Riggsby Library yesterday, discussing two Arthurian sources (Layamon's Brut and Wace's Roman de Brut). Our Marco Latin Sightreading Group is also back for a new semester as well!
