Interim good news from the International Chess Federation GA in Budapest: Chairman of the Constitutional Commission Roberto Rivello reported: 1. Complaint of russian CF is not admissible. 2. Request of Kyrgyz CF can’t be submitted to the vote of GA and should stay in the hands of FIDE Council.

Not only the decisive rounds of Olympiad begin but also the most important decisions are being made at the FIDE General Assembly. Yesterday, US authorities also had their say. And this means that serious sanctions are already in the air. I hope that common sense will prevail.
