ISRR 2024 has started. It was great to see Peter Gregory receiving a life achievement reward. Looking foreward to present my work Lincoln University CSIRO Charles Sturt University Gulbali Institute

Starting day 2 of #ISRR24 in Leipzig with a keynote by Prof. Franciska de Vries Prof. Franciska de Vries 🦠🍄🪱🌱🍂🌍 on how #drought affects plants and plant communities, exudates and microbial respiration. Huuuuge experiments!! Wow.

Congcong Zheng (Root Dynamics Group - IBG2) shows nice reproducibility of results btw rhizorons (a.k.a rhizoboxes) and filed results 4 #rhizosphere pH changes at low P, by 2 #rice varieties. 0.5 pH change makes a great difference in P uptake in P deficient strongly p-sorbing acid soils. #ISRR12

It was an absolute pleasure to give a keynote at the #ISRR12 around our work in Wheat early vigour and metabolomics to improve crop competitiveness as an integrated pest management Lincoln University CSIRO Charles Sturt University Peter R Ryan Greg Rebetzke

Klaus Schläppi University of Basel presents his vision of #SustainableAgriculture via #microbiome diagnostics. A study of 81+ (?!) field sites showed that AMF success greatly depends on the conditions of interaction. Background microbiome (esp pathogens) has great influence. #ISRR12

"There are databases around [Fred, Groot, Oak Ridge Laboratory, Try] but we need to try harder to standardize data" to be able to join forces, comments Larry M. York at #ISRR24 in Leipzig, referencing nph.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/np…

It was a pleasure to have Rahul Bhosale Rahul Bhosale at the James Hutton Institute yesterday. His talk about the regulation of the root angle in cereals at the International Barley Hub seminar series was very inspiring!

2025 Root2Res Faba shovelomics with the PlantEcoHutton team has kicked off, we'll be taking some #rhizosphere soil and #roots back to our lab SoilEnvMicro for nutrient cycling and microbial community analysis 🫘 🧬 always great to work with this crew.
