U of T Palaeontology Minute #Cambrian #fossils, representing among the oldest ecdysozoans, have been associated with #Kinorhyncha, though they have also been allied with priapulids in other studies. However, if correct, they are the only #fossil representatives of this phylum. #FossilFriday

Growing up in Canada, I was greatly influenced by David Suzuki and The Nature of Things. He showed me how to be a scientist and a science communicator, a powerful duo that’s still all too rare. cbc.ca/news/science/d…

On this day over 150 years ago, the 1871 Los Angeles Chinese massacre resulted in the deaths of 18 Chinese men. Eight of the attackers were tried for the crimes but eventually released, and a small indemnity was paid to the Chinese government as an apology.

In our December cover article, @SavannahSciArt describes a novel atympanic middle ear system in chameleons. Some chameleons hear using their pterygoid bone instead of an eardrum. This has evolved at least 4 times! More here: doi.org/10.1002/ar.248… #chameleon #diceCT #hearing
