Drew is flying solo today!

This is Drew flying a preflight test run with Brian, his instructor.

They came back in, landed, and took off again to get in a groove!

Still getting in that groove!!

Drew is back. Instructor, Brian is now going to talk with him to ensure he’s ready to go solo!

If you listen closely, you can hear Drew on the radio with the tower!

Drew is coming in and taking off on his own. His ground and flight instructors are standing behind me, and they are impressed!!

How does it feel??

Did you know there is a tradition of cutting the new pilot’s shirttails after a successful solo flight? Apparently, before headphones, an instructor would guide the student left and right by tugging on the back of the.shirt!

This shirt tail will hang, framed, on our aviation classroom wall. He can have it back when he gets his license!!
