🚨4 week bird protection camp begins in #Brescia Italy! The beautiful mountains nr Lake Iseo & Lake Garda are a central migration hotspot but also a brutal killing ground. CABS teams are back on the ground fighting illegal trapping & shooting to protect our migrating songbirds.

Around 50 volunteers from Italy, France, UK, Switzerland & Germany are now scouring the hills of #Brescia, northern Italy until early November. Every illegal net we find and every poacher we report saves a life on the central migration route. Stay tuned for more updates!

A rare trip south of the Waveney border delivered stunning views of my fifth shrike species in East Anglia this year. This adult, male, Red-tailed (“Turkestan”) Shrike showed remarkably well in calm, sunny conditions, in the great company of some fine, old, Suffolk birding pals.
