The new GOP megabill basically unwinds the electricity tax credit for solar, batteries, wind — anything that isn’t nuclear. But it seems *particularly* bad for scaling up advanced geothermal, since projects could not conceivably start construction within 60 days of passage.

Here we go. New York Gov. Kathy Hohul has directed the New York Power Authority to build 1 GW of new nuclear.

Reversing which fuels get subsidized and which get penalized every time control of Washington shifts is about the stupidest way to run an energy system that needs long term planning and stable supply chains.
