Bipartisan support for geothermal is BACK for the 119th Congress. Thank you Rep. Celeste Maloy, Congresswoman Susie Lee, Senator Cortez Masto and Sen. Lisa Murkowski for sponsoring the STEAM Act to extend permitting parity across oil, gas & geothermal. Time to drill for hot rocks! cortezmasto.senate.gov/news/press-rel…

Huge fan of Rep. Sean Casten and enjoyed our conversation today at the @ACOREPolicyForum -- where he shared his views on the tax package, the future of an independent (?) FERC, and how we rise to the load growth challenge... one of the smartest out there on all things energy and grid!

Thrilled to see Center on Global Energy Policy’s Paul Dabbar nominated as Dep Sec of Commerce. We’ve benefited so much from Paul’s expertise & experience in nat’l security, energy & technology, incl leading our great nat’l labs. He’ll be a huge asset to advancing US competitiveness. Congrats👏

Congratulations to my friend and ClearPath Advisory Board member Paul Dabbar on his nomination to be Dep Secretary U.S. Commerce Dept. Paul’s technical expertise, finance acumen, and government know-how uniquely positions him to further US manufacturing competitiveness and energy security.

BYD is getting much more sophisticated when it comes to telling its story. Get instant global attention with the headline "5 minute" charging. BYD is formidable. It offers arguably the world's most advanced LFP batteries. But investors and news agencies should be more careful

TEXAS SENATE JUST PASSED HOUSING ON COMMERCIAL ZONED LAND STATEWIDE 🤯 This law legalizes development & preempts cities over 150k from imposing - Density limits below 36 unit/acre - Heigh restrictions below 45ft - Setbacks over 25ft - Parking reqs over 1/unit THIS IS MASSIVE

The new GOP megabill basically unwinds the electricity tax credit for solar, batteries, wind — anything that isn’t nuclear. But it seems *particularly* bad for scaling up advanced geothermal, since projects could not conceivably start construction within 60 days of passage.

Kudos to Texas Legislature for passing an energy abundance agenda while sidelining populist anti-electron bills that had momentum. Passed: large load management, nuclear fund, energy waste reduction Failed: firming requirements, 50% gas gen mandate, wind/solar permitting hurdles

I am speaking at The Economist's 5th annual Sustainability Week US today to discuss the importance of preserving key tax credits that support clean energy innovation, modernize permitting and boost energy security to further 🇺🇸 energy dominance. I look forward to my conversation

Reversing which fuels get subsidized and which get penalized every time control of Washington shifts is about the stupidest way to run an energy system that needs long term planning and stable supply chains.
