Absolutely fascinating two hours exploring Greyfriars Burial Ground with #Edinburgh’s best versed Tour Guide, Robin Mitchell aka Adam Lyal (deceased). From poltergeists to Harry Potter and so much hidden history, what a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Fun too. Contact Cadies & Witchery Tours.

Fabulous photo of the Castlehill #Edinburgh from the early 1900s. Nice looking lantern outside what is now The Witchery Restaurant and if you look closely you can see the cannonball in the wall of Cannonball House. A little quieter in those days...

It's the anniversary of William Burke's execution (28th January 1828). In a black box on the counter of our shop in Edinburgh's West Bow rests a gory relic. This original artefact is a small calling-card case made out of the skin of the notorious "bodysnatcher" William Burke.

Do you ever tell someone a funny story and their response is ... silence? An anecdote going down like a lead balloon often initiates the phrase, "You had to be there". This blog may have to end with those words but you'll need to be the judge of that. witcherytours.com/blog/2025/03/1…
