The thing about Anti-Corruption Layers in #DDDesign: You should prevent bad design from leaking outside of a context, but you should also prevent _good_ design from leaking. You're not just protecting against others' internals, you're protecting others from yourself.

The purpose of your digital transformation isn't to copy someone else's success. It's to amplify the return on your assets.

So, strategic #DDDesign fills the gaps between software architecture and politics. Finding yourself downstream on an unreliable external model cannot be solved simply coding your way out of the problem.

I think UML died (or perhaps became a zombie) because it tried to document what's easy to see in the code rather than telling a story and placing an emphasis news.ycombinator.com/item?id=269345…

I think "Monolith vs. #microservices" is all about versionable components. Doesn't matter if you have 50 containers running "services". If you cannot do a release without testing & re-deploying all 50, you have "monolithic" software with all the maintenance headaches.#programming

#software architecture is the art of eliminating that which should not be built. #developers spend months building complex plumbing which does little more than make the rubble bounce. #programming

I can’t figure out a worst usage of company budget than porting legacy software to a new technology without fixing the modeling flaws.

The annoying paradox about beautiful code is that it’s never in the spotlight: bad code forces us to see it over and over, but the good gems often hide in the small pieces that just work and don’t need to be touched. Like preparing gourmet food and eating alone.

I really enjoy exploring all these emerging capabilities in the AI space. It's triggering a lot of new ideas and makes me re-think a lot of developer- and project wrangler habits. medium.com/@hitechluddite…
